“I have been coming to Sarah’s yoga class for years. She is such a wonderful teacher who makes you feel welcome, explains poses clearly and gives lots of alternatives which I find helpful. I never feel out of place if I’m doing something slightly different to someone else, and that’s down to Sarah. I always come away feeling positive in mind and strengthened and relaxed in body! Highly recommend! ”
Welcome
I know all too well, how the pace of modern life can impact our health and wellbeing. That’s why I am so passionate about creating space and opportunity within my classes for you to connect back to yourself… physically, mentally and spiritually. Sometimes that’s through movement, sometimes through stillness, sometimes through breathwork.
I spent many years teaching in secondary schools, training hard and running a Taekwon-Do club with my husband, until, in my late-thirties I realised I was living in an unsustainable way. My big wakeup call was being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013. Like many people, the majority of whom are women, I found myself with an autoimmune disease diagnosis. This caused me to look at how I was living and make some changes.
I had already discovered yoga and meditation, and these were a great help to me in coming to terms with my diagnosis and implementing positive lifestyle changes. Gradually, I took steps towards living a more nourishing and present lifestyle. Fortunately, I have remained fit and well and hope to maintain this.
In 2015, after having my son, I resigned from teaching in schools and re-trained to teach yoga. I have been teaching weekly yoga classes in Kinver and Stourton, near Stourbridge, ever since.
I remain forever a student and love learning. I have completed further trainings in Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Children’s Yoga, Yoga for Perimenopause and Chair Yoga, amongst other things, and I am always reading and developing my own knowledge for everyone that comes to my classes. I aim to create a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, religion, body type or ability.
I look forward to sharing yoga with you and I would love to see you at a class soon.
